Jaguar XK120

The Jaguar XK120 was the first sport car ever issued by Jaguar after the World War II. This spectacular sports car features three body types: the coupe, convertible and the roadster all of which are the two seat sports cars. The car was released from 1949 to 1954 and was regarded as the fastest production car when it was released. Its engine was the revolutionary 3.4 liters XK straight 6 engine. The successful design of this engine was imitated until the late 80s. The car was introduced to the public during the London Motor Show.

Jaguar XK120 is currently well sought car because of its power. Various motor shows has shown how the Jaguar XK120 works and its power it’s truly amazing and it tells not only of its speed and but also its engine. Modifications are also on-going everywhere to make the engine noise reduced while its power is still maintained. Modifications were later made on the engine power of the Jaguar XK120. During the 80s collectors and owners xk 120of the car opted to change the 3.4 liter engine to 3.8 liter or 4.2 liter versions. This gave the car more speed and power. However, it would be ironic since the name Jaguar XK120 is based on the top speed of the car when it was tested and released was 120 mph to the riding public.

The original design of the Jaguar XK120 roadster when it was released was in fact not traffic ready. Light signals were not available in this car and only hand signals were used. It was only in the 140 model the light signals were added. The first issued cars during the 1948 and 1949 were aluminum bodies with ash frame. There were only 240 of these released and were later changed as the company created more cars in lesser time.
