Jaguar XK first came into production in 1997. The car is regarded as a grand tourer and comes in two designs all of which has only two doors: the coupe and the convertible. The car has two series the Mark 1 and Mark 1. Mark 1 was produced from 1997 until 2006 and the Mark 2 was started to be made in 2007. Grand tourer cars are designed for long travels and comfort is more emphasized than performance in these types of cars. Tourers are much like the same like sports cars buts its heavier and longer in design.
Mark 1 is a five speed automatic transmission car compared to the Mark 2 which features six-speed automatic transmission. The other difference of Mark 2 is that it sports a different design of grill. Still both cars share the same the maximum speed which was specifically controlled in only up to 155mph or 250kph. These cars can also come in two body types, the coupe and the convertible. The wheels of the car can also be in 18, 19 or 29 inch alloys depending of the preference of the customer.
There are five limited edition of the Jaguar XK. The first is the Silverstone Edition which was made in 2001. Only a limited 600 were created as a commemoration of Jaguar’s entrance to the F1 race. Next is the XKR 100

The XKR Portfolio was produced in 2004 which were all convertibles. This type of XKR was marketed only to the US market which totals only to 200. The first half is in red paint while the remaining 100 are in blue paint.
