The Jaguar XJR-15 was created by the very famous Taylor Harris. It’s one of the super cars produced by Jaguar alongside Jaguar XJ220. Its production was during the years 1990-1992. Originally conceived to be a road car, plans changed when the car was put into production. The design of the car was made by Peter Stevens who later designed a more efficient car the Maclaren F1. The car is designed as a two-door coupe. The end result is a race car that’s supposed to be a super road car. Jaguar only produced 50 cars of this kind.
Jaguar XJR-15 features a 6.0 liter V12 engine and has a maximum speed of 195mph. It can go from zero to 60mph in just 3.1 seconds. When the car was opened to the market, the initial price of the car was $960,165. The car features a six-speed manual transmission. The chassis and body composition was for optimum protection since it’s basically made of Kevlar and Carbon
Fiber. The car was really built for speed. However, popular reviews on the car tell that there are problems on the car especially on wet tracks. The top speed of the car can’t be achieved since its gripping power is really lower compared to other super cars.
None of these are care on the market right now. The state of most of these cars was unknown since they are privately owned but the known owners of these cars are usually race car drives who actually participate in racing events with this car. Even though these cars are built for racing, certain modifications still have been made by various drivers. All of these cars were sold in Europe but the latest transaction involving the Jaguar XJR-15 was at an auction in Carmel, Ca in 2004. The car was auctioned at the price of $150,000 to a private collector.
