Jaguar XF is the latest of the mid-sized luxury cars to be placed in production in 2008. Its preview car C-XF (or concept car XF) was unveiled to the public January of 2007. The car was displayed for the first time in the public in Detroit, Michigan during the North American International Auto Show. The XF once in production would be a four-door sedan. If we base the engine on its concept, the future XF engine would have a six cylinder and most likely be in automatic transmission.
Jaguar XF will feature another era of design for the company. Ford, its parent company, combined its futuristic design instead of the customary design of a having the look of its predecessors. This is viewed by many as a giant leap of
the company as it tries to salvage itself from financial woes that plagued the company for years now. Jaguar XK has successfully created a buzz for the market as they anticipate the official arrival of the car in 2008. The car was designed by Ian Callum, credited for his design of the Aston Martin DB7.
The Jaguar XF is seen by many as the starting point of the company’s futuristic designs, departing from its predecessors who were seen as the cause of low sales. The design specifically, is quite a combination of a sports car and a luxury. Its size will certainly speak that it’s a mid-size car but from a far, it would be seen as a sleek sports car. Yet the car still has four doors compared to other compact designs. The car is like a coupe only it has four doors. Some would see it as bulky since its design is good for longer and bigger cars yet most sees it as an opportunity of Jaguar to show its futuristic intent by the release of the Jaguar XF.
